Purpose
To show the specificity of MDCT with contrast media in diagnostics of PAPVC and Scimitar syndrome.
Methods and Materials
119 patients with PAPVC aged from 6 days to 63 year ,
who underwent surgical repair and diagnostic procedures in hospital since 2010 to 2015 y,
were reviewed .
MDCT was performed in 40 patients.
The studies was done on 64-slises CT with bolus injection of iodinated contrast.
The dose of contrast was chosen individually according 0,5-1,0 ml/kg,
velocity ranges 1-3 ml/sec.
The data were processed on the workstation Leonardo Siemens to produce multiplanar and three-dimensional reconstructions.
Results
All patients were divided into 3 groups.
1-patients with PAPVC and atrial septal defect secundum type
2- patients with PAPVC without septal defect
3- patients with scimitar syndrome
MDCT was additional examinations for patients of the first group for specification of individual lung vein and collector anatomy.
The diagnostics of PAPVC and scimitar syndrome was challenging for TT echo,
but was obvious at CT scans.
The forms of PAPVC without atrial septal defect include 4 cases of PAPVC into superior vena cava,
1-PAPVC into innominate...
Conclusion
MDCT has high specificity in diagnostics of all forms PAPVS and scimitar syndrome and indications post-surgical results and complications.
