Learning objectives
To review the CT and MR findings of secondary ovarian tumors,
according to the site of primary origin
To evaluate the correlation between imaging features and pathologic findings of secondary ovarian tumors
Background
Ovary is one of common sites of metastases.
Secondary ovarian tumors account for 5-15% of all malignant ovarian tumors.
Because imaging findings of primary ovarian tumors and secondary ovarian tumors overlap in many cases,
confident imaging distinction between the two may be challenging.
Therefore,
it is important to recognize the imaging characteristics of secondary ovarian tumors.
1.Metastases from stomach cancer(Krukenberg tumor)
Krukenberg tumor is metastatic adenocarcinomas to ovary,
most common from stomach that can contain mucin-secreting signet ring cells usually originating from gastrointestinal tract.

Findings and procedure details
In this exhibit,
we describe imaging features of ovarianmetastases from stomach cancer(Krukenberg tumor),
colon cancer,
appendiceal cancer,
breast cancer,
pancreatic cancer,
renal cell carcinoma,
lung cancer and lymphoma.
We discuss possible imaging distinction betweensecondary ovarian tumor and primary ovarian tumor.
We also correlate imaging features with pathologic features.
Conclusion
The colon and stomach are the most common primary tumor sites in ovarian metastasis,
followed by the breast.
In the pathologic literatures,
secondary ovarian tumors are known to exhibit different macroscopic features according to the site of primary origin,
which may lead to varied radiologic appearances.
There are a variety of secondary ovarian tumors that can mimic radiologic appearances of primary ovarian tumors.
Therefore,
awareness of imaging characteristics of secondary ovarian tumors and knowledge of the diagnostic clues can help to determine appropriate treatment for...
