Aims and objectives
The thorax is the most common region to undergo imaging evaluation in children.Acute chest disorders can have three origins: lungs,
mediastinum and chest wall.
They include pulmonary infection,
infarction,
trauma,
congenital malformations and acute mediastinal conditions such as vascular malformations or major airway critical obstruction.
Imaging evaluation of the chest is frequently one of the first tools used after the clinical assessment especially Chest radiography is the first-line examination.
CT is requested only secondarily to confirm a suspected diagnosis on chest radiography.

Methods and materials
A retrospective study about 55 patients (37 boys and 18 girls) aged between 2 days and 17 years explored between March 2016 and December 2017All the patients underwent chest radiography and some of them had chest CT.
Thoracic ultrasonography was performed in 5 cases
Results
The age of our patients varies between 2 days and 17 years.
Many pathologies were diagnosed on imaging investigations .They were distributed in the table 1.

Conclusion
CT is a powerful imaging tool for the evaluation of thoracic disease in infants .
Chest X-ray remains the basic and initial imaging examination of the chest in daily clinical practice.
