Solid lesions of pancreas comprise of a large heterogenous group of lesions which can be due to neoplastic or non neoplastic processes. With the advent of modern cross sectional imaging modalities, many of such lesions are detected incidentally. It is used for pre-operative staging and also prevents unnecessary surgical interventions like in pseudotumoral pancreatitis which accounts for 5-10 % of pancreatectomies for presumed malignancies.
