Aims and objectives
Evidence-based practice in radiology (EBP) is established as a method to enhance the knowledge and fill the need for further knowledge within the profession (van Beek & Malone,
2007).
The practice of EBP consists of five steps: formulating the question,
performing an efficient search of the literature,
critically evaluating the literature,
applying the results of the search and evaluation while taking into account our experience and the patient's values,
and evaluating the results obtained within our own practice.
Thus,
the main goal of this study...
Methods and materials
A self-applied questionnaire made by Abrantes,
Silva & Fernandes to assess EBP was addressed to 15 radiographers working in public hospitals.
The questionnaires were composed by 3 main sections to evaluate the socidemographic data and the radiographer perceptions regarding EBP with a total of 103 items and a 7 point Likert scale format,
ranging from "totally disagree" to "strongly agree" for the content dimension,
and from "not important" to "extremely important" for the context dimension.
Data were interpreted and statistically analyzed through descriptive statistics.

Results
Internal Instrument Reliability:
Factor 1 (Understanding of the EBP concepts) = Cronbach Alpha of 0.917
Factor 2 (General aspects of EBP development in the radiology department) = Cronbach Alpha of 0.979
Factor 3 (EBP in the Work Context) = Cronbach Alpha of 0.974
Factor 4 (EBP: Training and Updating of Knowledge) = Cronbach Alpha of 0.937
Factor 5 (EBP and Clinical Governance in MRI) = Cronbach Alpha of 0.927
Factor 6 (Conditioning Factors for the Application of EBP) = Cronbach Alpha of 0.943
Factor 7...
Conclusion
Radiographers would benefit from further training in EBP.
Such approach would be well received and help the radiographers to enhance their knowledge and technical skills,
which would ultimatly result in an increase of the MRI deparment’s quality.
