Background

The radiological reporting is an art, which has changed dramatically over the past few decades. This change is mainly due to increase of dependance of clinicians on radiological reports and their demands for uniformaity of radiological reports. These changes have led to structured reporting formats. Weis et al(1) defined structured reporting into three basic levels, which have been described in Fig. 1 below. Findings and procedure details

In this section we will focus on different components of Structured reporting format for CT and MR liver dynamics and we will discuss the differences in the end. 1. History: It is the most important component. For liver dynamics we need detailed history especially of the following aspects; 1. Viral serology status (HBV and HCV) 2. Prior imaging information whether CT, MR or USG. 3. Current complaint of patient and clinical question that need to answered. 4. Any history of CLD, HCC and if present...

Conclusion

The reporting formats have changed over the years and are different for every institute. The concept of structured reporting is a great step towards uniformity and has clinical significance due to problem oriented approach, which makes it a good learning tool as well as impressive way of putting forward our opinions.
