Learning objectives
To briefly discuss the classic imaging signs and features in gastrointestinal tract pathology that helps the radiologist to diagnose the underlying pathology.
To enumerate the underlying pathological conditions and summarise the differentials to aid in correct diagnosis.
Background
The language of radiology is rich in descriptions of imaging findings,
often metaphorical,
which have found common usage in the day to day practise of gastrointestinalradiology.
These classic signs aid the radiologist in making the accurate diagnosis.
these signs bring an impression of image to mind which may have specific diagnostic and pathological implications.
Findings and procedure details
1. Rams horn stomach
Less than 4.00% patients of Crohn’s disease have involvement of the stomach and duodenum.it will cause conical narrowing,
tubular shape and limited distentibility of the stomach. The antrum is the gastric region most frequently involved.
These may give the stomach an unusual shape resembling the horn of a ram.

2. Leather bottle stomach
A leather bottle appearance,
also known as linitis plastica.
The differential for the appearance of a leather bottle stomach include scirrhous metastases from lung,
colon,
and pancreatic carcinomas;...
Conclusion
The identification of radiologic signs that appears familiar various things from our routine life and it can be helpful in diagnosis.
These signs result from various pathology.
Appreciation of these things in a background of more complex and potentially confusing imaging findings will assist in reaching an accurate diagnosis or assist in selection of additional studies to narrow the diagnostic possibilities.
