Conclusion
Communication with the patient takes an important part in providing quality health care. As such ,
interpersonal and communication skills are considered a core area of competence.
An efficient interaction,
with the goal of providing an Humanized care in radiology has many benefits such as increasing the speed and safety in diagnostic tests,
effective patient clarification,
increased psychological well-being,
increased predisposition of patients to return for a follow-up and therefore,
increased patient satisfaction,
giving visibility and recognition to the hospital radiology department.
Regarding the literature review and the data obtained in this study,
results doesn’t suggest the confirmation of the theoretical hypothesis that the radiographer shows enough concern for the well-being of the patient and encourages him/her to participate and to ask questions .
The MRI is the radiological technique where the Radiographer has a greater predisposition to improve the encounter with the patients as they felt they had greater encouragement to ask questions,
higher interest and greater proof of dedication and concern from the radiographer compared to the other radiology techniques.
In general,
the most consistent aspects with an interaction in which the radiographer convene a stronger presence of the patients in the diagnostic tests and shows interest in their welfare are not sufficiently respected,
whereas,
the language used and the respect transmitted to the patient are aspects with notorious positive rating.
This study showcases that the radiographer’s communication is possible through the patient evaluation and offers an important feedback.
Results suggest the need to improve the communication skills in the radiology department.
