Once installed on the smartphone,
the MyLabRemote App was tested in the Vascular diagnostic scenario,
while,
once installed on the tablet,
it was tested in the Liver and Brain surgery scenarios.
In the Neurosurgery scenario,
the Virtual Navigator tool was also tested,
using the dedicated buttons for the main Virtual Navigator functionalities,
that are present in the MyLabRemote App version for tablets.
After a quick set up phase (2 minutes in average) of wireless connection of the smartphone or tablet to the US system embedded with a wireless router,
MyLabRemote remote control was ready to be used.
Once provided the simple transfer protocol,
a dedicated point to point connection was established between the MyLabRemote App and the US system communication protocol.
The MyLabRemote-US system connection was performed after having installed the App on the smartphone or tablet chosen.
At each following start-up of the system,
a simple activation of the MyLabRemote virtual button on the US system touchscreen enabled the use of the MyLabRemote App for the real-time management of the US scanner.
In the surgery scenarios,
the main targets for the use of the MyLabRemote were the sterility of the system and the input device,
while in the vascular setting the main targets were the improvement of ergonomics and the reduced stress while scanning,
avoiding unnatural postures and actions.
