The real-time US management using MyLabRemote was always possible in all tested applications.
It was also possible to obtain a satisfactory input/output velocity,
with no delay perceived by the operator.
Same considerations were achieved through the MyLabRemote App installed on the tablet in the Neurosurgery set up,
as well as in the real-time management of the Virtual Navigator real-time Fusion Imaging tool.
Different uses were performed,
depending on the installation of MyLabRemote App on smartphone (one hand use in the Vascular scenario both for lower limbs and carotid examinations) or tablet (two hands use when operated by sonographer or surgical assistant or on dedicated stand when operated directly by the surgeon,
in liver and brain surgery).
Wide spacing among virtual controls on MyLabRemote User Interface (both regarding tablet and smartphone) enabled an easy use of the controller also wearing medical gloves.
MyLabRemote use with sterile covers was satisfactory tested as well,
with no sensitivity reduction or feedback delays reported.
In the vascular setting,
MyLabRemote was always used by a single operator when the patient position didn’t allow the operator to stay close to the scanner console.
While MyLabRemote improved ergonomics and workflow during vascular examinations,
avoiding discomfort positions and postures which could led to work-related musculoskeletal disorders,
in surgery settings the main use was related to sterilization ease of use with sterile covers on the touchscreen and wearing gloves too.
In the surgery scenarios (liver and brain) the MyLabRemote App use was tested by the surgeon,
a sonographer and also a surgical assistant (this depends on the skill of the surgeon and/or on the different clinical workflow present in the clinical center).
