Conclusion
microV showed very high sensitivity,
spatial resolution and scan in depth capabilities for slow and weak flows.
The microV tool demonstrated a high discrimination of movement artefacts with maximization of the independency of the structures with elevated contrast/saturation thus obtaining an accurate representation of the signal power value.
In particular:
- microV showed a higher spatial resolution for vessel morphology and velocity component depiction,
and deeper scanning capability for cerebral media artery,
enabling the detection of vessel tortuosity initially diagnosed as stenosis;
- The slow and weak flows of Thyroid nodules were clearly anatomically depicted using microV;
- In thyroid adenoma,
microV was able to detect more surrounding and crossing microvasculature with high spatial resolution and sensitivity;
- Inside the hepatic hemangioma,
microV was able to detect small and very low velocity blood flow;
- Advanced hemodynamic analysis with microV,
compared to standard Doppler techniques,
could help in the diagnosis of hepatic tumors with ultrasound;
- In a patient who underwent aneurysm removal with right renal artery replantation,
microV was used to highlight the viability of the renal artery;
- In synovitis microV revealed more blood flow at the level of the inflamed synovial pannus;
- microV had the capability to display the micro-vascularization between the upper and lower nail bed.
microV has the aim to increase clinical information and improve diagnostic confidence in several clinical applications,
ranging from Neurosonology to Endocrinology,
Abdomen,
Urology,
Musculoskeletal and Rheuma.
