Conclusion
Discussion:
Secondary hypogonadism is a clinical syndrome arises from lack of the hypothalamic or pituitary stimulus leading to gonadal insufficiency(1,10).
In this study our purpose was principally to determine the grayscale US findings,
SWE and RTE characteristics of the hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and establish the interobserver reliability of these methods. We found out that the interobserver agreement was good at testis RTE pattern evaluation and was moderate at epidydimal SWE.
Limitations:
In this study there wasn’t a control group including healthy volunteers to compare the characteristics of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.
Also our study group was containing only 15 patients previously diagnosed and followed for hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.
With a higher number of study group and a control group,
the data obtained from the study may enrich.
In conclusion,
in our current study we found that the reliability of sonoelastography findings is limited in the evaluation of testis and epididymal parenchyma in patients with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.
