Conclusion
The Advances in equipment technology and in ultrasonographic techniques allow the assessment of structures and their dynamic behavior that until recently were considered inaccessible to the method used,
increasing the diagnostic possibilities to the detriment of the methods classically used.
We can mention other advantages such as the availability and mobility of the ultrasound equipment,
besides cost and the possibility of repeating the exam without any side effects.
However,
such advances in ultrasound technique depend on a qualified professional with experience in handling pediatric patients,
which remains a challenge for many services.
We conclude by highlighting the new and indisputable possibilities of using ultrasound as an useful tool to define the conduct in the pediatric emergency,
being extremely important the need to educate the clinical staff about these possibilities and its importance,
the constant dialogue between the diagnostic imaging team and clinical staff and the qualification of a dedicated professional who can extract the full potential of the method.
