In the area of previously detected formation on the 1 day after CD,
total hemorrhagic saturation and edema were determined.
Edema manifested as an increased signal on T2-weighted images (T2-WI) and a lower signal on T1-weighted images (T1-WI) (fig.3 e,f; fig.4 e,f).
Hemorrhagic changes were determined as marked increase of signal on T1-WI (fig.3 f).
On the 3rd and 6th months,
with adequately performed ablation,
the zone of CD,
according to the literature [4-9],
is a focus of coagulation necrosis,
hyperintensive on T2-WI and hypointensive on T1-WI,
not limiting diffusion according to DWI,
ADC (Fig.4 i-l).
With inadequately performed CD,
in time the size of lesion part,
not overlapped by edema zone according to MRI data on the 1st day after CD,
increased,
which was regarded by us as a continued growth of the tumor (Fig.
3).
The analysis of MRI results on the 1st day after CD in the first group of patients showed 100% "overlap" of the pathological area by postoperative edema on T1-WI and T2-WI.
Before CD,
lesions in these patients had an average ADC of 0.86 mm²/s,
on the 1st day the average ADC was 1 mm²/ s,
in the 3rd month-1.03 mm²/ s,
in the 6th month-1.3 mm²/ s,
on the 12th month 1.3 mm² / s (Fig.
5).
Before CD,
the average size of the lesion in these patients was 46.4 mm,
in the 1st day-56.6 mm (increase in size was due to edema),
on the 3rd month-45.5 mm,
in the 6th month-45 mm,
on the 12th month-39 mm (Fig.
6).
Thus,
by the 12th month of follow-up of these patients,
the mean ADC increased by 51.2%,
and the size of the lesion decreased by 16%.
In 2 group of patients,
the analysis of MRI results on the 1st day after CD of the lesion showed the residual zone of no more than 5% of the focus area in the most difficult-to-achieve area of the tumor.
Before CD,
lesions in this group had an average ADC of 0.8 mm²/s,
on the 1st day-0.79 mm²/s,
3rd month-0.75 mm²/s,
6th month-0.66 mm²/s,
12th month-0.55 mm²/s (fig.
7).
Before CD the average size of lesion in 2 group was 43.9 mm,
on 1 day – 47mm (the size increase was due to the edema area,
and the dimensions of the hearth were carried out in the zone of maximum diameter,
including the area of edema and a residual area of tumor),
3-month – 55.4 mm,
6th month - 77.7 mm,
12 months – 112 mm (fig.
8).
Thus,
during 12 month follow-up the average lesion ADC decreased by 31.28% and the source lesion size increased by 155,2% due to size of tumor solid component increase.
