Thirty and 76 copies of the questionnaire were returned fully completed giving a return rate of 75% and 95% respectively.
100% of the radiographers had worked with student radiographers.
Majority of the radiographers (66%) had positive attitude towards teaching the students (3.32 ± 1.29) and were willing and disposed to guiding and mentoring the students.
The radiographers (71%) perceived the students to be disciplined and of good conduct (4.07 ± 1.27).
Factors militating against adequate clinical training as perceived by radiographers were absence of remuneration for clinical instructors in the hospitals (4.07 ± 0.90),
insufficient number of radiography teaching equipments to enhance teaching outcomes (3.82 ± 1.31),
increase workload thereby allowing limited time for teaching (3.64 ± 1.16) and large students’ population (3.57 ± 1.26).
The satisfaction levels of the students were 77% (first year),
56.3% (second) and 34.6% (final year students).
The students reported less number of contact hours dedicated for teaching (3.42 ± 1.22) and less number of period the students are exposed to handling the patients.
