Learning objectives
1. To recognize breast implant types, location and normal appereance in the different imaging modalities.
2. Identify post-surgical complications and characteristics.
Background
Breast implant augmentation surgery has increased in the last few decades, being the main causes:
Mastectomy reconstruction, malformation correction surgery and esthetics.
Therefore, after breast surgery, many complications have been described, and had been classified by many authors as early or late complications.
The most common ones, are those inmediatly after surgery, nevertheless, it is important to know every complications we can find, no matter when they appear, and how rare they are.
There are two main types of breast implants:

Findings and procedure details
A compilation of cases was made from our working institutions, in which a breast implant complication was found, making a descriptive and demonstrative paper of the usual and unusual complications after breast implant surgery.
All kinds of complications are included in the topic of breast implant augmentation, from the usual to the unusual, early and late postsurgical complications and non-related to surgery, this being and important topic since breast augmentation surgery is more and more common in our time.
Early complications are described as the...
Conclusion
Breast implant after surgery complications are many, they can go from early to late complications, and from usual to unusual.
Most of the literature concludes that capsular contracture and breast implant rupture are the most common complications, however, we as radiologists should know how to recognize them no matter how rare they are.
