Learning objectives
Herein we aimed to present imaging findings of varied splenic lesions to help radiologists to make an correct diagnostic contribution.
Background
The spleen is the largest lymphoid organ the entire body and a component of the haematological system plays role in immune response and haematopoiesis .The spleen known as “the forgotten organ” because of encounter unusual diseases. We present cases of various benign and malignant splenic lesions .
Findings and procedure details
In our department, we performed a retrospective study included the patients with splenic lesions.Herein we classified splenic lesions such as benign mass lesions ( cyst hydatid, splenic epidermoid cyst ,abscess, sclerosing angiomatoid nodular transformation (SANT) of the spleen),malignant mass lesions (Metastasis; serous carcinoma, diffuse large B cell lymphoma), and others abnormalities (splenic infarction and splenic rupture).
BENIGNMASS LESIONS
Cyst hydatid of spleen
The liver is the commonest place of infection and followed by the lungs, kidney, bones and brain, but the spleen is very rare site.The...
Conclusion
The spleen is a neglected organ hence we purposed to present imaging findings of various cases of spleen to help radiologists to make an correct diagnostic contribution.
