Background
According to the 2016 CDC data, there are 22 new lymphoma cases per 100,000 population every year, the seventh leading cause of new cancers. Of these, 40% of patients present to the ER with acute symptoms at the time of initial diagnosis [1]. Imaging has a crucial part in suggesting an early diagnosis of lymphoma, allowing for rapid treatment initiation, which eventually might affect patient prognosis. The imaging manifestations of lymphoma, especially in the ER setting, are many and varied, making the diagnosis difficult and can be perplexing to the radiologist at the time of acute presentation. Therefore, it is important to be familiar with the various imaging findings of lymphoma and its life-threatening complications to guide the clinicians in the emergency department.
