Purpose
Currently,
the research of the relationship of calcification of the coronary and carotid arteries is presented in many studies.
Despite this,
still remains unresolved question of the correlation of the severity of coronary lesions with stenosis of the carotid arteries.
Some authors point to the existence of this relationship,
as well as increase the risk of fatal cerebrovascular accidents.
Also narrowing of the carotid arteries is often regarded as a predictor of adverse cardiovascular prognosis.
But,
apart from this,
there is also the view of the absence of any mutual influence and relationship of calcification of the coronary and carotid. Diabetes mellitus impairs the prognosis of cardiovascular diseases.
It proved the impact of diabetes on mortality in patients with coronary heart disease.
In addition,
is interesting to determine the characteristics of calcification of the carotid arteries in the combined defeat of two vascular beds patients with diabetes mellitus.
The aim of the study was to determine the characteristics of calcification of the carotid arteries in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) with concomitant type 2 diabetes mellitus.
