Description of activity and work performed
According to the model of the IHE MRRT profile,
we have developed an independant,
web-based tool for using Structured Reproting with the roles for "Template Manager" and "Report Creator".
This tool can be linked with many other IT-systems in Radiology,
e.g.
RIS and PACS to have an integrated approach for reporting (Demo at www.mrre.org).
It is possible to import templates from distinct repositories,
e.g.
RSNA - ESR database (http://www.radreport.org/) or to use own templates.
Based on the templates,
reports can be created in different ways,
including the use of speech recognition.
All structured information of such reports is stored in a database accordingly (Fig.
3).
Based on the modular approach of the MRRT profile,
the dose information of medical procedures can be directly delivered into reporting templates using DICOM Dose Report objects,
or other communications like DICOM MPPS.
Based on this combined approach to feed informations into a report,
it is very simple to build a dose register together with the medical reports,
which fulfills the requirement of the EU Directive,
but also allows new strategies of scientific work-up.
Due to the possibility to have the link between dose information and medical informations,
new possibilities for analytics have been established.
