Background/introduction
Development dysplasia of hip (DDH) is a multifactorial pathology that includes abnormalities of hip joint. Its important to detect DHD early due to the fact that is clinically silent. Treating this pathology early and properly leads to a positive clinical outcome.
DDH is usually suspected in the early neonatal period using physical examination including the Ortolani test, Barlow maneuvers, and Galeazzi sign in 72 hour of being born. After that it proceeds with ultrasound and pelvis x-ray to confirm the diagnosis. [5]

Description of activity and work performed
We implemented our study in oneinstitutionUniversity hospital of Trauma, Tirana Albania. To reach the objectives we wanted, we used one survey that included:
-Gender
-Age
-First born
-History family
-Birth delivery
-First radiologic examination
-Follow up if they had one.
Each parent filled a survey , responsible for the reliable information given to us.
In our cross-sectional study, we included children 3months–10years old referred for suspected DDH from our pediatric-orthopedists, from November 2018–October 2019. Patients underwent a pelvic x-ray with radiation-protection and a proxy-questionnaire on...
Conclusion and recommendations
Screening is very important to detect DDH early and treat it causedetected DDH late ,can lead to long-term disability.
Therefor newborn shouldimmediatelybeexaminedby physician and based on patient case to give further screening examinations.
Risk Factors like:improper swaddling, family history, birth order, gender, delivery-related-complications, as possible indications in patient referral for x-ray examination in our age-group, besides physical findings, considering the most recent guidelines of AAOS(American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons) and ACR(American College of Radiology).
To conclude improper swaddling and gender are strongly associated with DDH,...
