Conclusion and recommendations
The developing method of estimating radiation-induced health effects is highly topical and may find a practical application in the current system of radiological protection. The adapted software may be used for the detection of patients with the high risk of radiation-induced cancers. Thus, the tool will help to implement the requirements of national and international radiation protection standards and conduct regular audits of radiation risks.
Besides, it is the opportunity for this methodology implementation since such a medical information system does not exist in the national market. Similar foreign software does not provide information regarding radiation risk levels. MRR Software may be used by the medical staff for R&D in radiology and dosimetry.
The information about patient radiation exposure and radiation risk stored in MRR Software could be used by physicians and radiologists for making a decision regarding subsequent radiological procedures. A patient also should have access to his/her accumulated dose at any time and any place. It is recommended to develop mobile application for patients.
