Conclusiones
CONCLUSIONES
La braquiterapia aumenta el control local y la supervivencia global,
especialmente en pacientes con enfermedad avanzada,
demostrándose el papel relevante que presenta este tratamiento en el manejo del cáncer de cérvix.
La braquiterapia basada en la RM permite la modulación de la dosis que recibe el área tumoral,
aumentando el índice de respuesta tumoral y reduciendo las complicaciones locales.
Este procedimiento terapeútico es eficiente y posible en la práctica clínica y prueba de ello es su creciente utilización en los últimos cinco años.
Los radiólogos deben familiarizarse con esta técnica,
con la imágenes obtenidas en RM con el aplicador “in situ” y con el conocimiento de sus posibles complicaciones a corto y largo plazo..
