El ictus cerebral afecta a una porción importante de la población.
Sus secuelas tienen repercusiones importantes en la calidad de vida de los pacientes y en costes económicos.
Muchos de ellos no son candidatos al tratamiento de trombolisis intravenosa,
por lo tanto es fundamental conocer no tan solo los métodos diagnósticos más avanzados en estos casos,
sino también las opciones de tratamiento IA para estos pacientes.
También es fundamental conocer los ensayos clínicos en desarrollo y las infraestructuras necesarias para cuidar adecuadamente a estos pacientes en el estadío agudo de su enfermedad.
