- La hemorragia cerebelosa constituye una lesión infradiagnosticada en los RNPT.
- Por su origen en la matriz germinal de la capa granulosa externa de los hemisferios es más frecuente la localización lobar y puede asociarse a dilatación del sistema ventricular supratentorial.
- Conllevan alta mortalidad en los días siguientes al diagnóstico y muestran mayor morbilidad a medio plazo y con mayor número de secuelas a largo plazo.
- La ecografía transfontanelar a través de la fontanela mastoidea es la técnica de elección en el diagnóstico inicial y seguimiento evolutivo de hemorragia cerebelosa.
La RM permite la confirmación diagnóstica y la evaluación de otras lesiones asociadas.
