Background: The International Council for Radiation Protection (ICRP) is an independent, not-for-profit organization with a mission to advance for the public benefit the science of radiological protection, in particular by providing recommendations and guidance on all aspects of protection against ionising radiation. ICRP committee 3 (medicine) is responsible for a work packet that produces RP recommendations and guidance on medical and veterinary issues through task groups, publications including the Annals of the ICRP, symposia and collaborations with liaison organizations and regulatory bodies.

Description of activity and work performed
Update 1: To promote free information for all stakeholders, the ICRP has continued to work on ICRPaedia to provide materials regarding ionizing radiation information on medicine and other sources, including a an updated section on medical use of radiation and a comprehensive update on radon and lung cancer exposure risks [BCA Action 9]. We have successfully FREED THE ANNALS with your support so that these publications are free except for the most recent rolling 2 year time. Thank you.

Conclusion and recommendations
The ICRP Committee 3 on Medicine has a strong mandate in radiation protection, we work together with the other ICRP committees and task groups, and we collaborate with a number of organizations including radiology, medical physics, and regulatory bodies to strengthen the Bonn Call For Action, especially for the paediatric patient.
