Conclusion
Imaging volumes have continued to increase, and radiologists are increasingly expected to read faster while maintaining accuracy. To achieve this goal, a multi-faceted approach, including optimal utilization of PACS and PowerScribe functionalities and efficient dictation strategies, can reduce time spent on low-value tasks. In this exhibit, we provide tips to help expedite these low-value tasks and to optimize time spent on more cognitively demanding ones. These tips are primarily directed towards practice in the emergency setting, although many strategies should be generalizable to most radiology practice settings. We hope that these tips will be useful to a variety of educational levels, including trainees at various stages and for attendings.
