Learning objectives
To understand the importance of childhood stroke because is one of the ten causes of childhood death.
To shown that is not impossible the possibility of that a child can have a stroke.
To identify it due to the disabling of long-term sequelae.
To know the principals entities of childhood stroke.
Background
Stroke is defined by the World Health Organization as “a clinical syndrome typified by rapidly developing signs of focal or global disturbance of cerebral functions,
lasting more than 24 hrs or leading to death,
with no apparent causes other than vascular origin”1; is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in children worldwide and increasingly recognized cause of childhood disability.
Children is defined as the age group between 29 days after birth to 18 years.2,3
In developed countries the reported annual incidence of childhood stroke...

Timely diagnosis of a stroke is a challenge,
neuroimaging plays an important role.
In our institution because of sometimes it is not...
Conclusion
Children can have stroke,
there are several causes,
we must identify principal entities toavoid long- term sequelae.
Upon suspected,
neuroimaging is the clue for the approach to stroke.
Identify a stroke will offer a quick treatment and reduce morbidity and mortality in children.
Althought modalities by image are know,
it is necessary to use the most precise diagnostic imaging method to confirm the diagnostic suspicion.
