Aims and objectives
Neurooncology accounts for 15% of all paediatric oncology in Russia - 23,3 children per million a year are diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Medulloblastoma,
ependymoma,
and astrocytoma are the most common pathology.
Presence of leptomeningeal and spinal metastasis is very important for staging,
treatment,
and prognosis for patients.
The aim of this study was to evaluate,
analyze and describe spinal metastatic tumors detectable by MRI of our patients,
and to present the most demonstrative and rare cases.
Methods and materials
Inclusion criteria: patients withvisualization beforetreatment; diagnosis - brain tumor; age - from 0 to 18 years; visualization was made between theJanuary2018 year and December 2018 year.CNS scans were performed on Philips Achieva 3T,
GE Signa Explorer 1,5T tomographs at the pre- and postoperative stages.

Children youngerthan 5 years old were scannedunder general anaesthesiato prevent motion artefacts.
Results
Our research contained 336 patients included medulloblastomas (36%),
astrocytomas (20%),
ependymomas (15%),
malignant glial tumors (7%),
atypical teratoid-rhabdoid tumor (2%),
germ-cell tumor (2%),
benign glial tumors (2%) and other tumors (13%).

1) Almost 13% of patients treated for brain cancer in our centre in the 2018 year had leptomeningeal and spinal cord metastasis (M3 stage).
As described in literature we found distant metastasis in 26% of medulloblastoma cases,
however in each group were several patients with the M3 stage of the disease.

Conclusion
This study demonstrated analysis and description of our neurooncological cases with typical and rare distant metastasis,
which we do not need to forget about on diagnostic,
pre- and postoperative stages.
