Learning objectives
Illustrate Common etiologies of extra spinal sciatica especially in women with special emphasis on Vaculogenic sciatica.
Vaculogenic sciatica and its etiologies due to neuro vascular conflicts and ischemia are elucidated.
Background
Uncommonly, sciatic nerve can be compressed during its course to and beyond greater sciatic notch. This exhibit focuses on MR imaging of extraspinal sciatica highlighting the gamut of causes.

Findings and procedure details
Dilated pelvic veins can be an incidental, clinically insignificant finding on CT and MRI, or may reflect pelvic congestion syndrome. In the latter condition, dilated pelvic veins and venous reflux account for a range of symptoms, including chronic pain of more than 6-month duration. Radiologists must be cognizant of established criteria to suggest this diagnosis on CT and MRI. The diagnostic criteria include the following: 4 or more ipsilateral pelvic varicosities, 1 or more pelvic varicosities measuring more than 4 mm, ovarian (gonadal) vein dilatation...
Conclusion
This exhibit illustrates Eiologies of vasculogenic Sciatica and their diagnostic characterization by MRI and MR neurography.
