Purpose
The anomalous pulmonary venous connection represents a spectrum of conditions in which the pulmonary veins are connected partially or fully to the right atrium,
directly or through a collector system,
instead of the left atrium.
Represents from 1.5 to 5% of all congenital heart disease.
Echocardiography is an non invasive imaging method helpful in evaluation of this disease,
but has the limitation that sometimes some extra cardiac structures cannot be visualized.
The cardiac computed tomography (CT) is useful in the evaluation of extracardiac structures.
In the non-display of the connection of the pulmonary veins by echocardiography,
CT has shown an increase in diagnostic accuracy and precise connection of the pulmonary veins.
Showing more accurate information for surgical corrections.Compare the correlation between her echocardiogram and cardiac CT in the diagnosis of CAVP.
And the accuracy in the connection of the pulmonary veins.
Comparing both methods with surgical findings.
