Comparison of clinical factors for the each PVH grade groups (Fig. 5)
• The mean age showed a significant difference among the groups
- PVH grade 0 50.5±10.3; PVH grade1 55.5±6.8; PVH grade 2 55.9±12.7; PVH grade3 63.5±9; PVH grade 4 68.5±12 years, P = 0.018
• Subjects with hypertension were more prevalent in PVH grade 4 and the difference in prevalence was significant among the PVH grade groups
- 100% in PVH grade 4, P = 0.036
• Smoking history demonstrated a significant difference
among the PVH groups
Comparison of PSG results for the each PVH grade groups
• Only apnea index showed significant difference among the PVH groups (P = 0.038)
Comparison of CarAC for the each PVH grade groups
• All parameters which related with CarAC such as the presence and absence of CarAC, CarACS, log(CarACS+1), and CarACS group demonstrated significant difference the PVH grade groups
- P = 0.002, P = 0.001, P = 0.001, P = 0.001, respectively
Associated factors for PVH grade (Fig. 6)
• In univariate analysis
- The presence of CarAC (standardized coefficient [ß]= 0.483, P< 0.001)
CarACS ([ß]= 0.482, P< 0.001)
Log (CarACS +1) ([ß]= 0.485, P< 0.001),
Age ([ß]= 0.360, P= 0.010)
-> significant association with PVH grade
- Severity of OSA (RDI) was not showed any association with PVH grade
• In multivariate analysis
- Log(CarACS+1) ([ß] = 0.283, P= 0.038) was the only affecting factor for PVH grade
- One case shows mild OSA, high CarACS and high PVH grade.
