Methods and Materials
(I) Phantom-Calibrations -
A New York Catphan 500 was examined using Single Slice helical CT using technique factors of 120 kVp, 300mA, 4 secs., 10mm slice.
Penumbra Spread, distance, area/volume, high-contrast resolution, and processing time were measured:
Coin & Wire Phantom was also used to study the removal of Penumbra Effect at the edges of a Guide Wire.
(II) Seven Field-Studies:
Cerebral MR Angiogram of a 66 yr-male patient was used to accurately measure the size of an anterior communicating artery aneurysm by an indirect method. Data at various angles of rotation were analyzed;
CT Angiogram of the same patient was used to measure the maximum width of aneurysm and the change in length in the slice direction over the period 2008 to 2009;
CT Liver tumor - 79 year old female patient was examined with single slice helical CT at 120 kVp; 200mA; 1 sec/slice; 10mm slice:
DF Angiogram - Digital Fluorography (DF) using technique factors: 110mA at 66kVp; Exposure time, 8ms. Focal-spot, 0.6mm; A 035 J guide wire was inserted into the artery of a 72 years male patient. Iodine contrast was injected via a femoral artery sheath.
Cardiac CT Cardiac of 50 yr-old male patient was obtained for Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring. Technique factors: 120kVp; 300mA; slice-thickness=3.00mm; pixel spacing=0.43mm;
CT Lung tumor of 77 yr old male patient with technique factors: 120 kVp; 203mA; 5mm slice – growth features were studied.
CT Thorax with TB inflammatory nodules of 55 yr old male patient with technique factors of: 120 kVp; 266mA; 5mm slice – growth features were studied.
