Conclusion
Along with the laboratory result,
the radiological findings allow to validate the hypothesis that the mummy belongs to the Ptolemaic-Christian period,
a time during which the mummification process was undergoing important changes.
The entombment of the two animals placed at her sides is contemporary to the one of the woman,
as it is supposable from the sacred service given during life by the priestess.
The radiologic contribution to the paleo-archeological finds analysis has become fundamental,
also considering the possibility of conservative study of very delicate and precious remains or objects.
The radiologist therefore finds himself to interface with an analytical-diagnostic expression of a new category of “special patients” that draws a fascinating conjunction between the ancient and the modern.
All this make possible the acquisition of important information to be used in a multidisciplinary environment,
enriching at the same time the vast world of the radiologic potentiality. Furthermore,
radiodiagnostic methods are finding an increasing use in other areas: the use of multislice CT has entered in the Italian legislature that regulates the forensic radiology,
especially in the contest of post-mortem evaluations.
