Background
Hepatic lesions arise based on liver anatomy.
In this exhibit we will describe the use of conventional and contrast enhanced ultrasonography (US),
computed tomography (CT),
conventional and contrast enhanced magnetic resonance (MR) imaging,
focusing on the role of hepatospecific contrast agents in MR in the diagnosis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) in the cirrhotic liver.
Furthermore,
we will analyze the role of Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) in the evaluation of recurrence of HCC after thermoablation procedure.
10 patients,
subject either to local ablative treatment or to combined thermoablation and embolization (TAE) treatments on HCC lesions,
were evaluated between January and October 2009.
The technique and indications are described and illustrated.
