Methods and materials
On the basis of clinical and radiological diagnosis of OA of the knee,
we treated 223 patients with HA (105 pateints in Group A) and we treated with PRP (118 patients in Group B).
Exclusion criteria were rheumatic and hematology diseases.
We performed MRI and clinical (with VAS) and functional evaluation(with WOMAC) before and 1 year after treatment.
We also divided the patients into 2 subgroups on the basis of age:in Group Aa we treated 70 patients aged between 62-81 ; in group Ab we treated 35 patients aged between 36-61.
In Group Ba we treated 38 patients aged between 62-81 and in group Bb we treated 80 patients aged between 17-61.
We created an imaging scale ranging from 0 to 11,
on the basis of the distribution of joint effusion at level of subquadricipital bursa,
anterior and posterior recess,bursa of gastrocnemius-semimembranosus and popliteal bursa,
the chondral damage side at level of medial or lateral tibio-femoral,patello-femoral) and the presence or not of subchondral edema.
