Methods and materials
The implementation and setup of a service class provider for the involved DICOM objects in order to enable an automated registration of the dose data.
This approach should be independent from modalities and vendors,
including CT,
MG,
XA,
DX and PET-CT.
Different communication models need to be organized between each acquisition node and the dose management system.
The modus of operandi depends on the kind of object each modality is able to provide to the dose management system (DMS).

DICOM objects like IMAGE (RAW),
SR and MPPS,
are handled with a range of methods to extract the accurate dose acquisition parameters [6].
The DMS collects and hosts this irradiation information in a database and offers a multitude of dissemination methods.
Profound analysis of the provided data performed by a multidisciplinary team,
including physicists,
radiologists,
nuclearists,
radiographers and PACS IT management.
Conversion and standardization of procedures,
protocols and related dose values is performed to tune the DMS and correctly interpret the dose results.
