Results
There were 6 males and 4 females,
with a median age of 63.2 years,
and 8 patients (80%) were more than 60 years old. Chest X-ray was used to examine 4 cases.
In 3 cases,
clear pleural space-occupying signs or masses (75% positive rate) were found in the posteroanterior chest film Fig. 1 Fig. 2 ,
whereas the other case was not available in the database.
A chest CT diagnosis was conducted for 60 % of the patients.
66.6 % of SFTP were located in the right hemithorax.
The average maximum diameter of the tumor specimens was 177 mm,
and 2 tumors (33.3%) had maximum diameters larger than 10 cm.
Most of patients (5 of 6) received contrast-enhanced CT (CECT).
CT values were higher than 50 UH,
except in the smaller tumor (26mm) Fig. 3 and the SFTP suggested in the unhenanced CT Fig. 4 .
50% were inhomogeneus.
All SFTP had clear boundaries and 66.6% smooth margin.
100% of tumors had a wide base.
Any of the tumors had fat.
Only the largest SFTP had calcifications (punctate) Fig. 4 and caused mediastinal displacement.
Only the two largest tumors associated pleural effusion Fig. 5 .
