Findings and procedure details
The authors did a retrospective review of imaging findings in patients under fourty diagnosed with intracranial meningioma that underwent surgical excision in our institution during a period of four years (2010-2013).
We found 18 cases,
9 females and e 9 males,
4 infra-tentorial and 13 supra-tentorial,
and in one case the mass was infra and supra-tentorial.
In respect to the histologic grade we found 12 meningiomas grade I,
5 grade II and one grade III.
All tumors grade II and III were supra-tentorial ou infra and supra-tentorial.
Relevant aspects,
namely dimentions and topography,
shape and limits,
signal/ density and pattern of enhancement,
and edema expression were analised and related with histologic grade.
All patients underwent MR imaging on a 1.5 T equipment following the protocol used for meningioma avaliation that includes: T1W,
T2W,
FLAIR,
T2*,
DWI/ ADC,
T1W with gadolinium injection.
