Results
Measurements of RVOT,
the main pulmonary artery at the level of its bifurcation and diameters of its brunches were performed.
All parameters were indexed to BSA. All data were analysed using appropriate statistical software.
Quantitative variables were expressed as means ± SD (standard deviations).
P value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.
In 15 patients with Fallot tetralogy mean ± SD indexed MPA diameter were 11±10 mm,
RPA - 8±5 mm,
LPA - 9±7mm (in all 15 cases were observed subvalvular pulmonary stenosis,
associated with hypoplasia of main pulmonary artery and/or with LPA/RPA stenosis in 10 cases). In one patient with Williams syndrome was revealed severe hypoplasia of the main pulmonary artery and its brunches.
In three cases were revealed truncus arteriosus/pseudotruncus with several MAPCAs of different calibre.
In two adult patients was found a severe dilatation of pulmonary arteries (with severe aneurysmal dilatation of the pulmonary arteries with mural thrombus in one of them).
