National Institute of child health (NICH) is a tertiary care center where huge number of patients referred from interior Sindh,
balochistan & beyond border.
Here we are sharing our departmental cases of various brain and spinal anomalies in Pakistani pediatric population presented with fits and delayed milestones.
The diagnosis was formulated on cross sectional imaging (CT/MRI.
These including ventriculomegaly,
abnormalities of corpus callosum,
cortical malformation,
hind brain herniations,
congenital infections,
congenital tumors,
vascular lesions, myelomeningocele and other spine anomalies.
All scans were performed on 0.3 and 1.5 Tesla Achieva Nova Phillips scanner .
Baseline sequences (Axial T2W,
Axial T1W,Sagittal T2W,
Coronal FLAIR were obtained according to departmental protocol).
Post contrast axial sequences obtained only in cases of congenital neoplasm and Torch infections.
