Findings and procedure details
For this educational poster, a review of the Cardiac CT scans performed between 2016 and 2018, in our tertiary cardiac hospital, were included, with a total number of 5973 exams.
Across all studies, lung nodules and masses were the most common findings, followed by lungparenchymal changes (including emphysema), lymphadenopathy, focal liver lesions, aortic dilatation or aneurysm, pleural effusions or plaques, and hiatus hernia.
This education review is an accessible pocket atlas of extra-cardiac findings organized by organ/structure surrounding the heart such as: Lung (parenchyma, airways, pleura, lymph nodes), Mediastinum (anterior, mid and posterior) Chest Cage (Bone, Breast, Soft-tissue) and Upper abdomen (Diaphragm, Abdominal organs).
