Purpose
b-SSFP (balanced steady-state free precession) cine sequence gives the best image quality for ventricular volumetric and functional evaluation (1).
Cine imaging is part of routine protocol,
and usual don’t require contrast agent.
However in clinical use is possible to acquire cine sequences after contrast administration,
focused mainly to shortening acquisition time (2).
In therm of physics tissue contrast of b-SSFP sequence depend primarily on T2/T1 ratio,
and use of T1-active gadolinium based contrast agents should have impact on blood pool and tissue appearances (3).
Review of literature show a few publications about use of contrast enhanced b-SSFP cine (CE-cine) and images appearances findings using 1.5T cardiac MRI (1,
4-9).
The aim of publication is to show image appearances of CE-cine in evaluation of chronic myocardial infarction using 3T cardiac MRI.
