Conclusion

Ultrasound offers significant advantages in the valuation of the abdominal wall, as a dynamic technique. It is useful for the study of hernias, soft tissue lumps and follow-up of drainage catheters, colostomy devices and surgical meshes. It is also a valuable tool for the guide of interventional diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
