Results
HCM patients had a ventricular Peak Filling Rate E (PFR E) of 365 + 110 ml/s,
as compared to the PFR E of 423 + 129 ml/s in HC (P=0.07).
Not significant differences have been observed in ventricular PFR A (210 + 107 ml/s vs 219 + 107 ml/s; NS) and Deceleration Time (DT) (159 + 60 ms vs 149 + 40 ms; NS) (Table 1).

Atrial passive Peak Emptyng Rate (PER E) was significantly reduced in HCM patients as compared to HC (average -146 + 53 ml/s vs -227 + 86 ml/s; P<0.0001),
whereas the atrial active Peak Emptyng Rate (PER A) was equal to -256 + 80 ml/s in HCM vs.
-216 + 104 ml/s in HC (P=0.05).
PER E/PER A ratio was significantly decreased in HCM than HC (0.6 + 0.2 vs 1.05 + 0.5 (P<0.0001).
Atrial ejection fraction was significantly increased in HCM patients 69 + 8 % as opposed to 46 + 15 % in the HC (P<0.0001) (Table 2).
