Results
With regard to the extension of trans-compartmental tumor,
in our study,
PET / CT alone,
showed values of sensitivity and specificity of 53%,
respectively (ic 27.81% -77.02%) and 75% (ic 34.91% -96.81%) with diagnostic accuracy of 60% compared to an accuracy of about 88% of one RM.
The low spatial resolution of functional PET / CT imaging compared to MRI has therefore not always made it possible to identify the infiltration of the soft tissues surrounding the tumor.
With MRI-PET multimodal imaging we obtained overall better values of diagnostic accuracy,
sensitivity,
specificity,
than those of MRI and PET / CT alone.

Therefore,
the joint evaluation of the lymph nodes obtained by integrating the two multimodal imaging techniques is interesting: in fact,
values of sensitivity and specificity of 92% and 89% have been obtained,
with a diagnostic accuracy and positive predictive value of respectively 91% and 96%,
compared with a diagnostic accuracy of 88% of the STIR,
79% of DWI and 76% of CT / PET.
These values are significantly higher than those of STIR,
DWI and CT-PET taken individually.
The results obtained for the evaluation of lymph nodes are summarized in Table below.
