Results
- VBM findings in the HC groups
When comparing both HC groups in the active pill-phase,
large bilateral clusters in the putamen,
lentiform nucleus and insula show a larger gray matter volume in the HC-A group.
These clusters turn unilateral in the inactive pill-phase (Fig.
2).
Further results of differences,
with MNI coordinates,
are listed in Table 1.

There was one small cluster found in the cingulum which was smaller in the HC-A group than in the NC group.
In the HC-B group,
the differences were more widespread.
Clusters of smaller gray matter volume were found in bilateral culmen and precentral gyrus (Fig.
3).
No clusters were found where gray matter in the NC follicular phase was smaller than in the HC groups.
Results are listed in Table 2.
