Results
A total of 135 aneurysms were endovascular treated and were followed by using MR angiography.
The aneurysms were located on the anterior circulation in 129 patients (95.55%) and in the posterior circulation in 6 patients (4.44%).
The aneurysms ranged from 2 mm to 30 mm.
Aneurysms were treated with coils in 97 patients (71.85%); balloon and / or stent assistance for coil embolization was used in 38 patients (28.15%).
Initially,
ASD post treatment demonstrated 72 (53.33%) complete obliterations,
32 (23.7%) residual necks,
and 31 (22.96%) residual aneurysms.
(table1).
*The immediate postcoiling DSA images served as a reference for follow-up imaging.
Seventeen patients died within 30 days after the procedure and one patient died 60 days after treatment.
FOLLOW-UP
Were excluded of imaging follow-up : 18 patients >80 years or score SRm ≥ 4 and 4 patients were controlled in other institution.
Only five (5.49%) patients were lost to follow-up. A total of 86 patients were follow-up.
A total of 172.5 patient-years of follow-up were obtained (range,
0-60 months).
On follow-up 55 (63.95%) patients showed stable results.
31 (36.04%) aneurysms showed change in their obliteration pattern.
Of these 31,
22 demonstrated recanalization and 9 (10.46%) showed further obliteration (TABLE 2).
There were no rebleeding event after treatment.
Only 18 patients underwent endovascular retreatment.
