Findings and procedure details
When scanning the patient lies prone,
the foot is in flexion (Fig.
2).
Transversal,
coronal and oblique views are performed using a 8 MHz linear probe. The normal finding is a 15 - 20 mm wide and 2 - 4 mm thin stratified band originating on processus medialis tuberositas calcanei (Fig.
3).
The most common site of plantar fasciitis is on the origin of aponeurosis (Fig.
4). There is always a collection of fluid around plantar aponeurosis (Fig.
5). There could be degenerative changes like calcifications (spina calcaeni inferior inc.) in its origin (Fig.
6).
