Results
The results of our research came from 28 public and private facilities.
Regarding,
the general part of the questionnaire,
75% of participants perform MRCP at 1,5 Τ MR system and all of them use body coil for MRCP implementation.
Oral contrast media is administrated,
prior the examination,
only by 21,6% of the participants.
60% of them were administrating pineapple juice,
while 20% were administrating pineapple juice or/and 1 ml Omniscan and 20% were administering ferum.
The second part,
was concerned with the main protocol that was used to perform an MRCP examination,
and the results are shown at figures 2,
3 and 4.
T2w SSFSE thin slices was used by 76% of the participants (p<0,001),
T2W thick slab was used by 92,31% (p<0,001) and 3D FSE by 96,3% of the participants (p<0,001).
The third part of the questionnaire focused on supplementary information (results are shown at Table 1).
Also,
a bar chart (fig.5) shows the most frequently used sequences and a tree chart (fig.6) demonstrates how the MRCP protocol is formed in Greek hospitals and private diagnostic centres which took part in the survey.
82,1% declared that they do not administrate I.V.
contrast media when they perform MRCP (p<0,001) while secretin enhanced MRCP is not performed at any department.
Also,
60,7% performs radial ΜΙΡ,
10,7 % parallel to the common bile duct,
21,4% parallel and radial,
and 3,6% rotational.
